Iloilo City indigents benefit from cash aid

http://www.thedailyguardian.net/index.php/114-community-news-cat/1730-p14-m-livelihood-aid-for-290-city-indigents

A TOTAL of 290 indigent beneficiaries from 11 associations in the five districts of Iloilo City benefited from the P1.45million cash aid provided through Self- Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran (SEA-K) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Rep. Jerry P. Treñas, Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog, Vice-Mayor Jose Espinosa III, and DSWD-6 regional director Minda Brigoli led the distribution of SEA-K Livelihood Capital Assistance to the recipients during the turn-over and oath-taking ceremony of officers at the Congressional office Friday.

The SEA-K Association composed of 30 members received P150,000 each while the 25-member group got P125,000 or P5,000 per member.

The recipients SEA-K Associations are Amethyst, Silver, Moonstone, and Topaz in La Paz, Opal and Turquoise in Lapuz, Sun Stone and Amber in Molo, Garnet and Gasper in Arevalo and Rose in City Proper.

The SEA-K is DSWD’s micro-finance strategy for poor individuals with entrepreneurial skills. They are given non-collateral and interest-free seed capital, which is payable within one to two years.

The fund has been made available for the beneficiaries to start a business or income-generating project after they have been trained in food and fish vending, and sari-sari store operation.

They are recipients also of Pantawid Pamilya poverty-alleviation program of the national government. (Iloilo City PIO)

Danny Fajardo nasupalpal liwat, wa ha ha ha!

Mabilog comes clean over Tigbauan mansion

BY JEZZA NEPOMOCENO

Danny Fajardo's reporter is a better journalist than him. Danny is good only with kiss-ass journalism, a new genre endemic and prevalent only in Iloilo City.

ILOILO City – Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog’s mansion in Las Conchas Del Mar Subdivision, Brgy. Namocon, Tigbauan, Iloilo was acquired long before he became the city mayor, his spokesperson clarified.

The city mayor’s liaison officer for political affairs Jeffry Celiz said the mansion was a conjugal property bought year after Mabilog was elected as city councilor in 2004.

Based on the 2006 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN) of Mabilog, the house and lot in Tigbuan worth P1.44 million was acquired in 2005.

“There is no truth to reports that the property was bought during the mayor’s first year in office.

It was acquired way back in 2005 when he was still a neophyte city councilor,” Celiz explained.

Apart from the aforementioned mansion, Mabilog owns another residential house in Tigbauan.

The other one was worth P1.48 million and it is adjacent to the first property.

Celiz said Mabilog, as a public official, has been very transparent in all his dealings, especially in declaring his properties and debts.

“The mayor is not hiding his properties, and even his liabilities, from the public. However, we are saddened that these properties were being tainted by malicious imputations,” Celiz said.

The mansions in Tigbauan are currently being occupied by Mabilog’s relatives.

Mabilog and his family are permanently residing in Brgy. Tap-oc, Molo district here.

Meanwhile, Mabilog’s net worth as of December 2008 reached P42.3 million. Mabilog’s SALN for fiscal year 2009-2010 has not yet been disclosed to the press.

All public officials are required to submit their respective SALNs in the Bureau of Internal Revenue annually pursuant to Section 6 of Republic Act 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees./PN

A letter from a city scholar on the kabastusan of Panay News and the evil triumvirate

Dear Adobo Ilonggo,

I am a scholar of Iloilo City studying at West Visayas State University.

Kadamo sang nakakita sang kasal kag nag attend reception. Ano sala ni Mayor Jed sa Panay News haw? Ngaa nga daw sapat pagtratar nila sa Mayor sang siyudad? Ano man, gusto ni Fajardo mag mayor man?

Jonathan sang WVSU

Please befriend Ilonggo Adobo Gwapo on Facebook. We assure you your names will be seen only by Gwapo and not head-basher and pathetic liar Rommel Ynion:

A letter for Mayor Jed from an offended Ilonggo

Adobo Ilonggo is posting here, a letter emailed by a housewife from Mandurriao through her daughter who reads Adobo Ilonggo. Celia, the letter-sender is requesting that this letter reach Mayor Jed.  Here is her letter:

Dear Mayor Jed,

Indi man bi sila kauyon sa imo, at least tahaon man nila pagka meyor mo kag ang posisyon mo.

Ynions are a mafioso family ( a teaser)

Sorry, Adobo Ilonggo fans, your favorite balikbayan is in transit to the United States for a class reunion and some research. Adobo Ilonggo was hoping to get a seat beside Rommel “Mafioso” Ynion, the most talked about man in Iloilo City for being consistently illegal, among many other things but we heard he is busy doing more illegal stuff and might move his trip to the US.  Adobo Ilonggo also uncovered many sins of the Ynion Family, a true Mafia family in the scale of Don Vito Corleone. Adobo Ilonggo shall dissect the comings and goings of this Ilonggo Mafia family but that will have to wait for about three hours when we go on a layover in one of them huge airports that give me a headache. Meantime, make do with a post by Adobo Ilonggo’s number one fan, IlonggoAdoboGwapo from Facebook. Come on, be friends with him, your name won’t be seen and so your head won’t get bashed in ala Lemuel Fernandez. Security settings on that site is extremely tight (tsk, poetic a).

Who is Jed Patrick Mabilog (Part 1)

Crucified and vilified by all the local newspapers in Iloilo City (according to media insiders of Iloilo City, these newspapers such as Panay News, The News Today, and The Daily Guardian were bought by Rommel “Mafioso” Ynion (https://adoboilonggo.wordpress.com/2011/07/05/green-zone-corp-is-a-money-laundering-company/) specifically for propaganda purposes), one wonders who Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog is that he deserves such ire and venom.

Mayor Jed (right) and CIDG chief CSupt. Pagdilao discuss peace and order issues in the region. Mayor Jed is the Regional Peace and Order Council chairperson.

Could the accusations against him as being corrupt be true? One must reconcile a person’s character and his actions and check which one is more consistent. So, Ilonggo Adobo Gwapo sifted through internet articles about Jed Patrick Mabilog just like what he did to Rommel “Mafioso” Ynion to see if the venomous accusations against the Iloilo City Mayor are true. And this is what Ilonggo Adobo Gwapo found:

  • Deputy Secretary General for Visayas, League of Cities of the Philippines
  • Chairman, Metro Iloilo-Guimaras Development Council
  • Chairman, Infrastructure Committee, Regional Development Council
  • Chairman, Iloilo City Taskforce on Economic Promotion
  • Chairman, Regional Peace and Order Council of Region VI
  • Chairman, Iloilo City Anti- Drug Abuse Council (ICADAC)
  • Chairman, Area VI Boy Scouts of the Philippines Iloilo Confessor Council

And so, why would reputable and highly-esteemed organizations like the League of Cities of the Philippines and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines elect someone to a chairmanship if he was not trustworthy, if he does not have the statesmanship and the leadership qualities to steer the organizations to success? Just wondering. For more information on what’s going on in Iloilo City, check out the most viral blog in Western Visayas: https://adoboilonggo.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/conflicting-news-good-news/
